Everyone loves the holidays; a time to get together with friends and family, drink too much and fuck up your diet. This is the time of year when relatives that you barely talk to feel free to pass around critiques and unsolicited advice about your life. Below are a few of my personal tips on how to spare your self this holiday season from getting drained and vamped on by well-intentioned, annoying ass family members.

  • Smudge like it’s everybody’s business! Whip out your sage, palo santo, rosemary and even lavender to smudge your self & your home before stepping out and or inviting guest in. Burning these and other medicinal herbs helps to cleanse the air of impurities, sickness and overall funky ass vibes.
  • Consider hosting the holidays at your home, that way you can set the vibe and gracefully kick everyone out when you’re done feeling festive.
  • Bring your own dish! Don’t trip, Aunty Pam will never understand why you’d rather eat organic, gluten-free, plant based treats than the traditional ham, turkey & chitterlings. Just bring your own food, and don’t tell anyone that it just might be healthy.
  • Wear your cleansed & charged crystals. Nuff said! Stones such as Citrine, Amethyst, Selenite and Rose Quartz will help to keep your vibes high and aura protected.
  • Wrap your head. Keeping your head covered with a beautiful head adornment helps to keep you grounded and psychically protected while MeeMaw keeps asking you when’s the last time you’ve been to church.
  • Say no to unsolicited hugs & advice. Just say no!
  • Arrive & leave early… with a plate.
  • Simply say no, stay home, eat snacks & charge your crystals. The holiday season is one huge mass ritual revolving around the Winter Solstice. You might as well spend some time in meditation with your crystals, channeling this energy into what you are called to manifest this season. You feel me!??

PEACE, LOVE & Asè
